Hi all downloaded 0.6.2 for windows 7 had bitcoin running fine then laptop battery went dead. Turned computer back on started up bitcoin and got this error message:

Runaway exception

A fatal error occured. Bitcoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: NSt8ios_base7failureE
CAutoFile:read: end of file
C:\users\leigh\desktop\bitcoin-qt.exe in runaway exception

Have tried reinstalling and still does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated

Your blockchain file got corrupted. Delete blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat from C:\Users\leigh\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin and restart Bitcoin and it will re-download the blockchain. Don't worry, your bitcoins are safe as long as you don't delete wallet.dat (which you might want to back up while you're at it).

Will pretend to do unspeakable things (while actually eating a taco) for bitcoins: 1K6d1EviQKX3SVKjPYmJGyWBb1avbmCFM4
