I'd expect that to kill it unless you are running it in the snow.
0B82 = 300Mhz
I can run my 2 on default all day (225Mhz) without problems with cgminer 4.9.1 - about 54GHs - but after I shift the voltage up to 0.8v I get failures that require replugging them - I guess they overheat and kill the USB somehow.
Neither a USB reset nor a chip initialisation clears it - it has to be an unplug, replug.
I'm using a Seasonic 1200W platinum with PCIe<->U3 cable from my Jalapeno from long past - that doesn't heat up.
The plugpack heated up to 50C+ the first time I used it so I stopped using the plug packs (the U3 heatsink was 45C so I thought that was ironic)
