Hi there, I bought some bitcoins recently by doing a wire transfer from CBA -> Mt.Gox.  Unfortunately the original AU$600 (+$22 wire transfer fee) turned up as AU$500 at Mt.Gox.  I sent the amount in AUD from CBA, but it seems it got converted to YEN somewhere along the way and then back to AUD.  So basically lost 20% of my original transfer.

I would like to know of anyone other ways to get money from Australia to Mt.Gox that doesn't lose so much $$.  Anyone sent a wire transfer to AurumXchange?

Please post your experiences here including other banks and/or other sites.

Cheers
Chaz

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Why wire to another continent, fees will always be high and unpredictable.

Buy coins here to a local Australian account:

https://bitmarket.eu/market/AUD

If you need more coins then listed, send me a message and I can often put up an offer.

Will end up faster and cheaper, less hassle then wiring to Japan.
