This is a very positive note from Richard Branson. The title of his blog post is "How digital currency could transform the world", but he didn't go into much detail into the "how". I think he is in a very good position to promote bitcoin. If all of his companies could accept payments in bitcoin, it would be a real confidence boost for cryptos.

Branson needs to get out there and promote bitcoin more. Imagine if he accepted it for some of his other companies or they even accepted it at Virgin Money? He maybe trying to promote his own coin since he has to recover he's recent losses.
What coin and what loses?

Could be his virgin money but he did lose one of his experimental aircraft a week or so ago in some explosion in SW USA, IIRC.

Somehow I don't think Richard Branson needs to resort to price manipulation via blog entries to compensate for market fluctuations or recent losses. With a net worth approaching $5 Billion...I'm guessing he's reached a point in his life where he says what he believes, regardless of financial implications... As evidenced by the B-Team: http://bteam.orghttp://www.forbes.com/profile/richard-branson/

He owns dozens of companies including a bank. Why can't he adopt btc via all of them? Let's be honest, Virgin Galactic is a ridiculously niche company and how many of the people who purchased a ticket on there will pay with bitcoin? I've only heard of one person doing so so far.

Maybe he will in the future. I think if any mainstream bank was going to accept - or at least offer to do something with bitcoin - it would be Virgin Money, though I am also disappointed he hasn't branched out with bitcoin acceptance in all his other companies. That would indeed be huge for us.

Maybe the Winklevi will cancel? I wonder how many people will ask for refunds after the recent shuttle crash .
