Multiple GPU'S on Mac Pro.

Running a mac pro on snow leopard 10.6.6 with an Nvidia Geforce8800GT.

Anyone know anything about running multiple graphics cards in the mac pro? Google isn't telling me a whole lot.

I don't see why you couldn't. If I am not mistaken, don't (or didn't) certain configurations of the Pro come with 2 graphics cards right from Apple?

Just check that you have an open PCI-e slot (which you should), and you'll be golden.


Of course, all I own (Mac wise) is a MacBook Pro and my mini... I do all my mining on an old Dell, so I could be mistaken.

Well, from what I understood, the mac pro (intel) can only run a card that has flashed bios to run on a mac, or a card direct from apple.com. But even in the flashed bios card community I can't find anything on multiple cards.

Really... that is news to me. But, you'd know better than I would.

I was just googling, and it does look like info on Mac graphics cards is slim...

Yeah the concept of SLI Crossfire on windows systems and using graph cards like that sparked my interest, especially after I heard about this grad program that used multiple gpu's of PS3's daisy chained together to solve complex algorithms...and then the grad students would play Crysis on the weekends on full power and not crash. Got me thinking about two graph cards. Looked into it and seems to be slim info.
