no idea how to fix, I have about 15 BTC in the wallets, I have a paper backup of them.
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

When does this happen?  During launch?

What version of the client?

Step 1. ) make a backup of your wallet.dat

You might next try re-downloading the blockchain.
Basically leave wallet.dat and remove everything else in the Bitcoin folder.   (or use Blk*.dat files from a blockchain nightly).

Does the problem persist after doing this?

right during launch, the client never opens.

it is 0.6.2, I just got it because my 0.3.XXX crashed and i thought the newer version would fix it.

I will try redownloading the blockchain tonight

update:

worked like a charm, seems to me that something was corrupted within the blockchain.

I need to dl all the blocks now, better than losing my coins.
