I'm using Bitcoin v0.6.2-beta.

When I start it up after being away for 10 days, the Block Index takes around 20 seconds to load.  I have a Xeon processor and SSD hard drive.  Is this normal?  Maybe we could get a progress bar in there?

Yup. I just leave it running all of the time because of this.
