And about the merging accounts
Here's from the support site:
" Quick clarification. This is not typically a request that our support team can perform on behalf our customers. But here's a quick guide on how to best merge two accounts that I hope you will find useful:
If you would like to transfer files from one account to another Box.net account, we suggest inviting the other account as a 'Collaborator' and transfer the folder ownership to the Box.net account that you wish to keep. To invite a Collaborator, click on the little blue box with the white downward arrow shown next to the folder and select 'Invite Collaborators.' A pop-up window will appear. Enter the email address of your other Box.net account and click on 'Invite.'
To transfer folder ownership, you must be the owner of the 'Collaboration Folder.' When you click on the folder, you will see a list of Collaborators in the side menu. As the owner, you will notice that 'You' are designated as the 'Owner.' To select another collaborator as the owner, hover your mouse over their name and a small pop-up window will appear. Select 'Folder Owner' then click 'Okay' to complete the process.
Once all of the collaboration folder's ownership has been transferred to the Box.net account that you wish to retain, you may now delete or cancel the other Box.net account."
I have gmail and that means I can put more dots in my email address and it'll still be the same.

email@gmail.com and I'll have two box accounts
