Hi Guys,

Have a proposal that I wanted to share and ask you about. If there's decent positive take up I'll move forward with it.

As most of us will remember, and some of us still be in pain about, Mt Gox fell about a year ago now, taking vast reserves and a chunk of the good name of cryptocurrencies with it. Since then we've moved on. DACs and distributed exchanges have been developed and we're all far more savvy in using third party services. However, I think we're also starting to forget the full sweep of the fall and how it hit us so hard so early on.

I'm proposing then that we capture our collective memory of what happened before it fades. As a starting point, but over to you guys if there's a better way, I've put up a small wiki site here:

http://willyreport.com/

And seeded it with the basics. The site is under creative common's license. I've no personal beef with Mt Gox - I didn't lose money - but I'm passionate about helping us move on to a better world. I also know that this is just an aside in the story ark we're all on. But nevertheless I think it's important to record and remember now. Any thoughts? Anyone think this is pointless, or anyone agree that this is worth doing?

Thanks Scott

Thanks guys!  Would really appreciate a share in whichever social media platform you fancy.  All helps!

Already getting some good feedback in which I've started to implement.  Now added an "evidence" section to hold the bare facts of the case.

Lest we forget!

But most of the newcomers are still doing the same mistake like they did with Bitcoin. They need to be more careful about using this sites.

It's because they don't bother reading any of the advice the older members give and think nothing will happen to them, the rest of us who knew what kind of companies Butterfly Labs and MTGOX were etc. and stayed the fuck out.

Couldn't agree more.

That's why I think this is worth the effort.  It's far from certain that the world will change enough to get the most out of cryptocurrency and block chain technology.  And every bad headline makes it harder.

And every newbie ignoring the past makes bad headlines more likely.

We don't have to be like the traditional financial market.  It doesn't have to be boom and bust.

Things are moving at such a breakneck speed that we could easily just sweep on and forget, and repeat, because there are so many newbies coming in.

But we need to be smart, learn and remember - above all remember.

Quite happy to take a steer on this if it's not relevant though, as there are plenty of things to be getting on with here.

Opening it up here to see what the veterans think.
