I try to open it and it's loading for around 5 minutes before closing out without any error or anything anyone have any ideas? I've had this problem for awhile but have my private keys so it hasn't bothered me but I created a new wallet and imported the private keys and its still not working?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Try to reinstal Multibit and update the java - if you have your unencrypted private keys you can use another client.
