Most people don't really understand this perspective, so I will try to explain.

The person held for ransom is not physically incarcerated. Their social ties are severed while the victim is monitored to locate source of funds. Then those sources are drained using hacking and other means.

My point is, Bitcoin does solve this problem to some extent.

its opposite in bitcoin. A lot of hackers and blackmailers, use bitcoins to ask for ransom, rather than it being good for people to stay away from ransom asking people.

I suppose it depends upon your definition of ransom. I believe bitcoin shows great promise in combating ransom. Are you only considering it extortion when non-institutionalized groups participate in the act of ransom?

One must remember miners have an approval process. I do not know how that works, but would appear to be a collusion possibility on certain transfers.

Denial of service at an individual level would be a possibility under the Bitcoin protocol.

Bitcoin marketing:
"As long as you aren't targeted, your transaction will probably go through".

Targeted by 100% of miners. Seriously? No.
