quick question: can I send from coinbase to electrum?

I install electrum wallet this morning and it shows 5 different receiving addresses and I sent a small test amount from coinbase to electrum - should this work?

and vice versa?

Yes, you can send to electrum from coinbase and vice versa. And it is better if you store your bitcoins in the electrum because it is more safe, just make sure to back up your wallet and remember the seed.

On average a transaction will take 10 minutes to get the first confirmation. But thats just an average, sometimes it takes longer for the miners to find a block.
