Bitcoins "Failed to connect"

Hi, first post here. I'm babysitting a bitcoin rig for a friend of mine and it has stopped working. It keeps getting a line saying "Failed to connect, retrying" Another system is running bitcoins just fine, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. This computer used to work fine, and he has a chrontab to start it back up in case the computer reboots. Can anyone help me fix this?
