According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I don't know what paysafecards are but you can use your bank card or credit card on certain exchanges such as Cryptsy and Ghash.io. So I would say marketing hype..

Look at the liquidity of any coin you are interested in. That alone should tell you whether or not its a good investment.

You can now buy A, B and C crypto in a bunch of ways, but the true question is WHY? What unique use cases do A, B and C cryptos offer to users that people would buy them? That is the key to adoption.

I'm more impressed Guldencoin has managed to work it's way into real world brick and mortar businesses, something very few alts have managed to achieve.

I have been a fan of Guldencoin for a long time, but I don't need to hype it, just have a look at the timeline below to see how fast updates keep coming.

Paysafecards seem mainly to be used in the EU. It allows you to make anonymous payments. You can buy the cards at gas stations and online, like someone mentioned on the ANN it's a clever way of getting anonymously onto the blockchain for those that don't mine or came into some crypto coins via other means without having to use your own cash.

I would not say it is a marketing-hype as I wasn't completely sure it was a crypto-first, but that doesn't really matter if it is or not. Most of us hadn't seen it yet and using Ghash or Cryptsy is far from proper usability for new people. I've managed to make buying NLG a 2-step process with this website.

Paysafecards have a lot of benefits, because they are easy to come by for Europeans, they are anonymous because you do not need an account to buy or to use Paysafecard, you don't need a bank account because you can buy 'm with cash in stores like Primera, Hema etc. And using Paysafegulden.com has been nothing but a breeze thus far. 21 orders processed thus far Wink Almost 1 per hour in the past 24 hours.

So yeah, it works and people use it. Why? What Bluestreet said: https://timeline.guldencoin.com Wink

I urge you guys to read up a little bit about Guldencoin, you'll find it very interesting to invest and you're always welcome to join us on the Dutch or English section of the official forums for input, suggestions, questions etc. https://forum.guldencoin.com

I just bought € 50,- of Guldencoin with this. It took me 2 minutes and no hassle! What a cool way to buy into Crypto anonymously!

It made me realize how much I donated to Bram though Wink

Two points:

Anonymous vs KYC... it's a clear decision for those worried about anonymity.

Liquidity doesn't matter if it's used on a daily basis in the country it was designed for.  This isn't a pump and dump that users are using to make BTC.  It's a long-term fiat replacement coin that is being accepted at an amazing rate.  I don't care if I can sell it on an exchange if I can buy a subway sandwich with it, and the subway owner can take it and buy a beer with it later.  It's getting closer and closer to a closed loop system.

Okay, you guys finally convinced me to look at Guldencoin. First thing I check to see if its still mineable, yes, and that is a good thing. Second is the premine, OUCH!! sorry not touching this one. No interest in someone being the holder of 10% of all coins. As of this moment there are 154 million guldencoins that have been mined. The devs have 170 Million. So you see, its a more than 50% pre-mined at the moment.

The marketing team is clearly very good.

Guessing you didn't read the premine info correctly.  It's for the distribution to all the citizens of the Netherlands.  Stats for the distribution can be found in the thread.  Devs don't touch it.  There is a small premine for development, but it has been used wisely.  A portion was used as a community sale to fund the IOS wallet development.

I agree, premines are almost always scammy... but this one isn't.  Full transparency and accountability.

The marketing team is the community.  Almost fully user driven.

I've been around the block a few time, man... this one is a keeper.

All is accounted for. The premine is for the dutch people.

Small part for development, which is used wisely for good projects, bounties and merchants:

400 packets of 10.000 NLG were sold to communitymembers as funding for IOS development, how great is that!

Never heard of paysafecard's before this topic.

There is a lot of stuff out there like SnapCard service etc
So it takes a lot for an Altcoin to be able to do something you can't already with Bitcoin.

And is it useful ?
Many places accept Bitcoin directly so i bet a card would sometimes just be more of a hassle than anything.

And is it useful ?
The card is not for accepting, but for purchasing NLG. The card is for anonymous buying Guldencoin.

Many places accept Bitcoin directly so i bet a card would sometimes just be more of a hassle than anything.
Guldencoin is accepted directly at 60 merchants already. I buy my Subway sandwiches with Guldencoin and order my wines online with it. https://guldencoin.com/pay-here
