Do you feel free where you live? And why?

A little poll to discuss your perceived level of freedom or liberty and maybe discuss such concepts... Do you think it's the role of the state, being from a majority or minority, to impose it's will on other people, restricting their freedom? For example since when a state can tell people, that they can't love each others, or what they can put in their body or not... the problem with an approach not based on risk assessment is that it will spawn out of control sooner or later... So why do you think the state always prefer to use approach based on ethics or morals and not on risks?
