Hi guys,

if someone had a million to spend, say 900k in hardware, 100k on warehouse / electrician / fans - ventilation .. some questions:

-estimate of income per month?

-estimate of how long it would take to pay back 900k?

-estimate how long it would take to setup and get running / install / hook up?

I was assuming a return of 8k a day, so 240k a month??? sound about right of an average Huh?? this is also assuming it can be setup in the middle of nowhere with the state's cheapest commercial power rates..

Thanks guys

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Well, $7.5k/ day is true right now, but if you get 1000 Sp-20, then your breakeven on cost of machines and power is in 173 days assuming $0.1/kwh for electricity and just 6.86% average jump in difficulty rate.

There are so many things that it is not easy just to throw out a number.

There will be discounts with such big of orders.   Do you host for others? There is more room and cost, and revenue.   At this point you really need full time staff 24x7.  Electricity will be a huge factor getting it in right place will take time.   And really need to hire someone professional to set up electrical and fan systems, do not want fires.

If you have a million.... i'm sure this is all possible to do.  But if you don't it is impossible to come out with a good estimate.

^ thank you guys..

no, I'm just a dude who thought I could make money... damn kicking myself as everyone is for not jumping sooner......

I guess my 2 hour thought out plan was to "hire" some MIT graduate who's tech savy and wanted 20% for all earning after payback was done, but it's seeming to be more overwhelming then I thought. I did not know it would need a staff... I was already suspicious wanting to "hire" guy and without the knowledge of all the programs and how bit coin even fully works... I am not sure I could trust a team of people not screwing me over when I wake up to find all the equipment taken and a big F U post it note on the screen... that is if they left a computer behind

I read an article of a guy who was in WA as was making 8 million a month?Huh not sure his whole costs and setups.. I took my numbers from someone who was running $4,700 in equipment and just sized it to 1 mill...

I know a master electrician who worked for a very very big company and he said it costs them 100k's to shut down power every 1 minute it was down.. so I'm sure he's covered in that much juice, as I know he helps people do very very large scale power consumption setups

well thank you guys, looks to be more then I could handle right now, but I'll keep it in my mind as I thought this could be a two guy operation sleeping in the warehouse for a couple years, but doesn't seem to be the case fully.

thanks again

That guy is Dave Carlson. And he had (still has?) a special relationship with Bitfury. He was their original North American distributor. He got his mining equipment for much, much less than 99.99% of the rest of the people in the world. And he got in at the exact right time. There's no way to compete with that, especially now.

I think the asic manufacturers are selling those asics with at least 10x their original price, what do you think?

I'm guessing your trolling.  But if you do have 1 million dollar client.... hire a consultant.

I doubt the markup is anywhere near that high now. Do you really think an S3 only has $20 in parts and labor? The fans alone probably cost $5 each.

But last year, gear was very costly $/GHs compared to this year. A 25 GHs Bitfury card cost $400 a year ago. Now an Antminer S3 is $200 for 450 GHs. But BTC was ~$1100 at this time last year so buying gear with BTC wasn't so painful. And you earned your BTC investment back much quicker too because difficulty was much lower.

well guess all you want.. people have money, and a million isn't really special these days.

to clarify, no client.. me.

is there such things as "bit coin consultants" or do they go under "cryptocurrency consultants" ?

I was all new to this so I like to do some digging myself before involving people, and getting charged high fees... how do you think I have this money... haha,

Thanks again guys.. I'm gonna watch the price charts for a while to see what happens, as someone suggested to invest in the coin itself which I will do if I feel it's not going to drop.. in the meanwhile I'm looking at other currency as who knows, it might blow up like bitcoinn as there is much more to be made with cheaper currency then higher priced currency ( my take )

My advice would be to buy coins worth of 30% of your money and with the rest just wait until next year for the new mining equipment.

First question is where do you live?  just the state is enough.  next question is?  do you want to  run a place as a job?

lets say you want sp20's decent gear

below is a 10,500 dollar deal

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp20-mini-farm-batch-1

much less then 1,000,000

    it needs  15 psu's

this one is great  sale is solid

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-1300G2-ATX12V-120-G2-1300-XR/dp/B00COIZTZM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417238771&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+1300+g2

so 10500 plus  2400 is 12900  and 1 good switch 100 bucks 1 good router 100 bucks and maybe 200 in cat 5 wire that is  13300 and 700 in shelves

14000 to set this up  if you run  with high clock it will use 15 x 1100 watts or 16500 watts  that is 400 kwatts a day

12000 kwatts a month.

at 10 cents  for power with 5% jumps in diff you lose 5k   …… and I gave you free rent and zero labor costs.

at 8 cents for power with 4% jumps in diff you almost break even.  so do you have 8 cent power?

If 'someone' had $1,000,000 I suspect he could afford to pay someone else to do the math.
