How would such a bounty work? Who decides who gets what?

We could crowd source every level of this!

Crowd source the servers with hadoop clusters, easily deployable from an exe file using distributed computing software from the Apache Foundation.
We can make it decentralized! have volunteers scowering the internet for clues.
We can even meta-evolve the project by making it all open Source, so we never truly know who really is searching for Satoshi.

We can go so extreme! We will make it like Bitcoin and pay the bounty as shares for work given.

I think it might just work.

If you think my efforts are worth something; I'll keep on keeping on.
I don't believe in IQ, only in Determination.

Douchiest thread on the forum, well played OP.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

No thank you. I have no desire to expose a noble man's anonymity and/or bother him (or she, or them). It doesn't really matter who Satoshi is in my opinion, all that matters is the work he published and gave to us all, free and open source.

And let me guess OP- you will be holding the crowd's bounty funds in escrow for them?  Cheesy

Great, unleash the inept doxxers, let's "newsweek" every last unsuspecting "Dorian" out there.
This is exactly what this kind of bounty will lead to. We would see probably several people get "doxxed" as being satoshi without solid proof or evidence of such and as a result many people will receive massive amounts of harassment while Bitcoin's overall image will be worsened
