Starting today,  there will be two ads for bitcoin per day on 98 radio stations across the country, plus XM Satellite radio, and the LRN.FM radio network.
There will be one 30 second live read,  and one 30 second recorded ad.
The live read has been going for over a week now,  the recorded ad will start today.

You can hear it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H15HyTti8vk

I'm paying $2,500 a month for these ads,  so if you would like to help chip in with the cost,  please buy some networking equipment from me,  or send a donation to:

I like it.

It's tough to make a national radio ad about bitcoin without making it sound like some scam/commercial stuff.  I think you managed to make something that's clear about what bitcoin is.  I would have liked to hear it's open source software, though.

only suggestion i would have made, would be to try and be clever... make people wonder what you are talking about, but give them, clearly, a place to get more information. :p human curiosity is awesome.

hope you cleared it through a friendly lawyer - this talk about price appreciation etc, may deserve some kind of disclaimer about 'past performance not guaranteeing future results' and about your ad not being investment advice and things like that.

Not a fan of that ad. You'd be better off with more localized physical ads.

We need to get people using bitcoin in every day life!

Yes, but we need a viable smartphone client to do that.  Don't you think that this is a bit premature?

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Thanks for the help XF2!
If anyone thinks they can put together a better ad,  please do.
We can switch it out any time, but the new one must be 29.X seconds long exactly.

Roger asked us to give it a go:

Quote
Let's be honest: Transferring money today is a hassle. And on top of
it you pay outrageous fees.

That's why thousands of people from all over the world are using a
newly emerging standard for online payments.

Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the first decentralized digital currency. That means that
Bitcoins are created at a predictable and limited rate and anyone is
free to accept them. No central bank or single corporation is running
the show.

With Bitcoin, sending money is as easy as sending an email. And almost
as cheap!

Sounds too good to be true? Try Bitcoin yourself, for free at

Let us know what you think, if we get no feedback or positive feedback we'll have Chris record it on Monday. (He's the voice from the video as well.)

Love that second one.

I really want to stay away from promoting BTC as a means of getting more fiat currency.  I like the emphasis on how it is a better tool than USD.

Free Talk Live has agreed to accept part of the payment for the radio adds in Bitcoins!
I hope they will use the bitcoins to pay their vendors as well.
This will help get the real bitcoin economy started!

If you want to help out with Funding the ad,  please send a few bitcoins to 1CMjGYzaStRStKwsoRUJYHR9Vev2UjpyfB

This is premature.  What I think when I watch the video on your site is that I can generate free money with my computer.  Everyone wants free money.

What we need right now are not more miners.  What we need are more high quality merchants - trusted merchants.  The price of bitcoin will continue to drop until miners can spend their bitcoin rather than just cashing them in for dollars.

We need to get people using bitcoin in every day life!

I agree, but the way to do this is to start selling goods for bitcoin, not advertisements for bitcoin.

to get good value for your advertising dollar consider advertising on alex jones radio and internet broadcast at www.infowars.com

he has very cheap advertising and he reaches a large audience of over 1 million per day and a lot of his listeners are the types of people that would be interested in btc.
