I emailed Dwolla concerning a slow withdraw and received this.

Quote
I'm sorry about the delay. Did you receive my voicemail I left last week?

It should have gone through, but I believe due to verifying accounts last week due to the influx of Bitcoin users, we had some delays. Your funds will go through tomorrow and you will see your funds show up in the next 3 days.

Thank you for your patience

I wonder if they know I am Lips sealed

Bitcoin even gets mention in their FAQ:

Quote
Is Dwolla some sort of token system, like Bitcoin or Facebook Credits?

No. Think of Dwolla as a network that your hard earned cash can travel on in the digital world. So cash in your Dwolla account is just as valid and just as real as the money you see in your online banking statements, ATM screens, and your hand.

I wonder if they know I am

Maybe not yet, but after your first transaction to or from Mt. Gox's Dwolla account they will.   Wink

And how do they feel about bitcoin?  Knowing about it is one thing... but being willing to work with it.  Well thats another.  Do they have an official statement we can hold them to?

They haven't blocked mtgox yet. If they took issue they would block mtgox, the single point of failure.

It is nice that there are enough bitcoin users for them to notice. Hopefully it will make them less likely to block it.

Who's working on Dwolla2Coin.com and Coin2Dwolla.com?

Obviously MtGox is good. But there are people who don't want to see bids and asks and all that. They will pay a few % to see a rate and click one button.

I'd still like to hear more about the above from MagicalTux.

Dwolla told me the same thing after I sent an email complaining that my transaction had not gone through after 5 business days and 7 actual days (they quote 1-3). They wrote: "We've had an incredible influx of users from bitcoin and we are working to compensate for the sudden rush in traffic."

I recall MagicalTux saying (i think in IRC a couple weeks ago) that someone from Dwolla emailed him stating that the way he is using Dwolla's API is interesting and to contact them if he would like anything added to or changed in the API.

It would be nice if there were more Dwolla-accepting merchants.  I haven't seen much development on that front, aside from some local businesses in the Omaha, Nebraska area.
