Why are you so easily vexed? You need a sense of humor and take life in a light way, you seem too grumpy.

Just sick of shill accounts and alt promoters trolling bitcointalk. I'm tempted to drop a grand on a bunch of independent contractors to spread FUD on your forums to reciprocate in kind.

There is nothing wrong with many alts! I'm just sick of these underhanded tactics. We get it , you no longer love bitcoin and think PoW is dead. Please sell all of your bitcoins and stay in the alt section if you want to post here.

I'd say, I am pretty much at peace with Bitcoins.
I have a lot of confidence now, that it will be a success. I saw it at some highly speculative thing a year or even some months ago and wasn't sure, if I would just lose the money, I invested in it.
I look at the price changes every day, but it doesn't really excite me anymore, regardless of if it going up or down.

3.5 years for me and I'm still high on Bitcoin : )

More you dig, more interesting and intimidating it is. And so much staff left to explore! I think I'm good for at least another decade...

Yes, I'm still very excited with Bitcoin.
In fact, I'm earning my first money ever on Internet, thanks to Bitcoin signature campaign!
I see this earned Bitcoin as very good investment in the future Smiley

Yeah, today I was thinking about dead man's switches.

Let's say that I want to leave bitcoin to my loved ones without involving the government or any trusted intermediaries such as lawyers.

To do this, I want to set up a dead man's switch with a bitcoin unspent tx output:

e.g. If the unspent output is idle for 6 months, then the bitcoin will be sent to Addresses X and Y (my children's addresses)
Therefore, if I die or become incapacitated, they just need to wait for 6 months and everything is done cleanly as I intended.

Currently, there's no way to do exactly this with bitcoin, although you can do something inferior if you're willing to give the raw transaction text to a trusted third party or leave it somewhere for them to find.

I don't have the talent to program this stuff, but I am still excited just thinking about the awesome things that we'll be able to do when all the tools are available.

Currently, there's no way to do exactly this with bitcoin,

It's real close, Counterparty.

And Overstock is working with Counterparty to trade stocks using the blockchain as well. Imagine how much human effort (measured in both time and money) will be saved when a secure blockchain can automatically handle the passing of digital cash and stocks from one generation to the next exactly as the dead person intended.

And think about this: When you get paid in bitcoin, you're going to be able to have that money automatically split up and sent to different addresses. And then money going into each of those addresses can be set up to be automatically saved, used to buy stocks/bonds, donated to charity, automatically pay bills, pay taxes and put in your fun-money address in the proportions that you want. As this sort of stuff matures, there will be presets available that will suit 99% of people's needs. Set up a responsible, hands-off personal finance and retirement savings regime in 20 minutes. If you change jobs, there's no problem. You give your new employer your address and you don't need to change anything else. And you never have to worry about some company that you dealt with in the past pulling money out of your account without your permission.

DACs are going to allow you to participate in distributed networks selling or buying wi-fi, space, or computing power in small increments to/from strangers as needed. Maybe your router will pay for itself.

This isn't some crazy sci-fi stuff. We're going to be the first people to experiment with all of this and eventually some user-friendly, insured version of this is going to hit the world like a shockwave. Bitcoin competing with and perhaps dominating other currencies is the sexy, get rich quick part of it, but the rest of it still excites me every day.

Half a year ago, every day, I was Bitcoining 8 hours a day.  Setting up gear.  Ordering new gear.  Selling used gear.  Tuning my gear.  Optimizing my environment.  Buying Bitcoin.  Meeting up with Bitcoin vendors around my neighbourhood.

But my fever has reached its pinnacle.  Lately, while still following Bitcoin news closely, my foot has not been on the gas pedal nearly as much.
Am I the only one?  How can I get reinvigorated?

Still excited, but for changing reasons if that makes sense. At first I thought it could be a good way to stash some funds away for the future. Then I started to understand the idea behind it and how much potential it has to change the world. Now it is probably a combination of the two, but still quite exciting.

It's been a few years so the excitement is fading in a manner of speaking, mainly because I'm starting to use them regularly and it's becoming a normal thing for me, but there's always something new in the environment that turns me on again. Smiley
