Is there any active Bitcoin Skype groups?

I'll happily make one if there isn't any active ones.

I don't use Skype and would not recommend it to anyone.

It's spyware.

People could/should just use freenode IRC. It's simpler and pretty much anyone with a browser can join to discuss Bitcoin.

It can be found on #bitcoin I think.

for text chat, use IRC. for video chats and social stuff within the bitcoin topic, there are many google groups that do video sessions

(though google, facebook and skype are just as data gathering as each other if you one of them paranoid people)

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

He is a Romanian moderator so naturally he would only make one for his board.

I really don't see the point of a skype group as I don't think it would add very much value above what IRC or a message board/forum would provide. Granted it does support video, however I don't see the need for this plus it is horribly insecure as it leaks a lot of information about you and a hacker could potentially use it to gain access to your computer/files (eg your wallet file)

Why have a skype group?
I definitely won't be using video, as I wouldn't want any personal information to be revealed. Smiley

I think many people feel this same way. If I had to guess, I would say that many people on here take active steps to maintain their anonymity and using skype only makes that more difficult and less effective, even before you start to use the "video" features.

skype group will not be effective. other than a limited number, most of them will race to promote referral link. rarely are willing to work together and help each other

Well there is always the option of using an Anonymous mask and using software to modify your voice.
The issue lies in Skype itself, and I wouldn't recommend this.

For groups just use telegram, is multi device, is free and has open API. In Italy we have bitcoin groups on telegram with 100-200 members.

Lol how you plan to have 9999 people in a skype group?
You imagine how much smap everyone would get that way?
For big groups IRC is way better.
