My friend gave me this message today but I have no clue what it means. All I know is that it does have a meaning. Does anyone know how to go about reading this?

Looks like words. Some kind of cipher if it's a real message.

There are many more more than 26 characters used. This draws us to thinking some kind of rotating encipherment with a large alphabet, or "leet speek" using numbers or many capital letters in unexpected places if this is a substitution cipher.

A simple one-time pad can make a message undecodable if you don't know what the encryption "key" is, so not worth bothering if the person might actually be cursing you out and not want you to know the meaning:

Message: fuckyou
One time pad: deepceleron

message+pad: jzhpbtg

I have highlighted all the words that are two or less letters.

First off, all English words have to have vowels in them. So if you look at the two blue ones "H and Y", that means it is either A, E, I, O, U and Y. Only the vowels A and I are complete words by themselves, so this concludes that "H and Y" are the vowels "A or I".

Next, if you look at the ones I highlighted in red, you will see that "DJ and DM" both start with a D. So either both words are starting with the same vowel (E, O, U, Y), or the J and M are different vowels. So this means there are somewhere between three and two unknown vowels left.

The green one "+F" needs another vowel, but only one (two won't work), so between two and one unknown vowels are left.

The brown one "rq" needs another vowel, but only one (two won't work), so only one or no vowels are left.

I will now move onto the acme of my hypnosis. The final colored words in pink "Pq6" and "vnt" contain no similarities. And we only have one vowel to use left. Therefore, I have come to find out that there are only three  probable conclusions:

#1 - This is not in English.
#2 - This is a cipher.
#3 - This is not in English, and is also a cipher.

Thank you for trying, but it is in English. so I'm going with #2. If there is a key, it would probably be a common one. IE password, key, 1234, etc. And it's not pocket text, it was purposely made for my suffering. Sad

That's probably not it, its going to be a structured sentence with no swear words.

Do you actually know what it is, and you want to find out if anyone from the community can decode it?

I have a pretty good idea of what it is and yes I am interested if anyone can decode it

Nearly impossible without the cipher. You best bet would be to use a problem with a large list of words as ciphers (50,000+) and could take years to do with the current computer hardware available depending on how it was ciphered. Double or even triple ciphered could take 100+ years. You'd need some sort of government class computer (CIA, NSA) and or a Quantum Computer. Which, in theory, could run those calculations in seconds. Some quantum computers exist, but are rather slow at the moment. The super ones (which supposedly exist) could run your sentence in a matter of seconds.

Without that cipher, there is no hope. And we'd need to know how it was ciphered. Consider yourself trolled, until you are given at least another piece of the puzzle.

It reads:

Bummer, you blew the deadline.
