Thanks for your participation and you make excellent points!
Some of those I will have to get back to you on for exact specifics or approval to mention...
The Æther Kripton OS is centered around security and privacy, has no back doors and won't be bloated with malware and unneeded permanent APPS.
The Æther OS is a simple and efficient code.
We feel the same way you do which is the main reason the Æther OS was created.
We have spent a good number of months translating TOR to .NET C# but as noted we shelved the project and decided to make something different and what we feel is ultimately more secure.
A white paper will be released soon.
Also the encryption is not an add-on. It's built in...

Sorry this thread does not have the most recent updates but the XDA Forums does.
Well the project is rather very interesting coming from people that were/are part of this problem. The majority here is aware of security and privacy issues of the today's world.
Even though I don't participate on the XDA Forums (too much time is being consumed here as it is), I tend to take a closer look every once in a while. This OS could be the thing if you do it properly.
The latest operating systems (after Android, iOS, Windows) were just weak attempts and some have yet to be released (Tizen?).
What would be the rough estimate of completion? A year, two or?
Months at the most and only a few till first hardware integration. I would say weeks but we
have just added another huge task to the mix, taking over an alt coin...
We intend for the Æther Kritpon OS to be a game changer. I know that can seem an arrogant statement to make but the proof will be in the pudding.
Coding the new security feature has taken many months and should be completed in a few days to a week so the first glimpse of a "game changer" will be available soon.
An Important Fact:
We are not from the XDA Forums and of the Android/GOV bunch.
That's my old nick from times past looking for help and offering suggestions for my new phone.
We posted the project there to have a platform to announce what we are doing,
encourage some APP coders to eventually dive in, find a Cyanogenmod Dev for
specific applications, and encourage discussion on what's important to them in an OS.
Obviously till it's functioning on a device we know most will be more than skeptical.
Same on these threads in this forum. The alt coin Runaway Dev fiasco has dismayed
the majority but there are some believers and soon enough we will have something
to present to these communities and the world.
