So I'm on the move today, at the Calgary Airport (YYC) on their public WiFi, and I went to load Bitcoin.org. Lo and behold, I get:

ACCESS DENIED!

Internet access to the requested website has been denied based on the Calgary Airport Authority's Acceptable Internet Usage Policy.

I doubt that the airport has put this link on specifically, so I'm worried that some sort of domain filtering list that they subscribe to is targeting bitcoin.

Has anyone else come across locations blocking bitcoin.org?

Yes I read recently in another post on the boards somewhere who said their dads router had blocked bitcoin sites and that they didn't think he added them manually?

Just more fallout from bot nets probably. now anything that mentions bitcoin is gonna be blocked or marked as a virus/malicious.

If you are using public wifi, you should be using a VPN anyways.

Maybe it's for your protection, for when somebody bumps all the wifis off in the airport, MITMs their connection, and viruses up any binaries that are downloaded:

I know it's at least on the M86 block list in the P2P category.
