Dragons Tale - think world of warcraft without the raiding but with gambling. Actually, maybe Second Life is a better example.

As crazy as that sounds, its the best way I know how to describe the game. If you have played "A Tale in The Desert" then you will recognize the graphics - the same people are behind this game. Egenesis.

I have only deposited 20 bitmil and by listening to my mentor Guzik, I have accumulated over 200 bitmil (Or .2 bitcoins.)
While walking through the palm trees of these Eastern style islands, you may sometimes find herbs or soldier statues that gift you 1000 satoshi or more. Whereas most items in the game require some sort of gamble, (usually 1 ksat at 98% payout) - herbs are free to pick up. I just picked up an herb today worth 1 bitmil. (.001 BTC) but they are usually worth around 10,000 satoshi.

There are also frequent "drinking parties" where some of the rich guys or the most recent lottery winner will buy everyone a round of drinks. I have picked up quite a few ksat from the bottom of my drinks before. (Literally EVERYTHING in game has some sort of bitcoin prize inside.)

If anyone is interested in playing this game, it is loads of fun - send me a PM or comment this thread. (Please don't say anything at all if you don't have anything nice to say.) If you are cool, I'd like you to come hang out with us in game. Cheers!

I've played with an early version but I wasn't able to figure out how it's working. The graphics looks better now, maybe it worth to take a second look.

The game has huge potential but atm its held back by the client. The game is playable but it looks cluncky, the movement is lackluster at best and the whole feel of the game looks like it was made on a engine built in 1998 by a college kid.

It means nothing for the gameplay.

Tibia is even worse and people still play it.

And this is you missing the point completely.
Imagine the same with easy to use controlls, smooth movement (such as in wow) none of those retarded "you cant go up here movement restrictions" camera going max distance on 50% of the times when you go to another tab and so on.

Many games are horrible yet some play them, what i said in my post was: If it wasnt built like shit from the 90's the userbase would be x100 if not x1000 of the current one.

Just gonna answer all your questions at once... here goes.

Having the camera go crazy is easy to fix. Use your dang mouse wheel!

It's not action packed, but I play because the people I play with are nice and the game RUNS smooth. It's kinda like just hanging out with your friends over a poker game, yeah poker is slow and not as fun as call of duty - but you get to think introspectively, joke around, "hang out" with friends. Not everyone's cup of tea.

I agree the sticky terrain "You cant walk here" is annoying as hell - but that never stops me from logging in daily to collect my feather tree frond. I know one of the developers phone # and will call him today about a smooth push forward walk fix.

BTW - My favorite game by far is the Feather tree - costs 30 bitmil - for 30 days you can collect a frond. If you forget to log in, your winnings go to that days pot for other players to win.

Wink heheheeeeee - my biggest frond was 50 bitmil in one day. I like intelligent gambling like this. Will power to the max!
I don't care how lackluster some areas of the game are - ima play for that reason alone from now on!

Finally, INDEED IT WAS MADE BY SOME COLLEGE FOLK. That's one reason I like it. It's not all in your face fancy with the graphics. Who here still plays mario 64? lol - bad comparison but sometimes simplicity is relaxing.

Lastly, Dragon's tale is bitcoin gambling based in Japan or China, a tale in the desert is not and is based in Egypt.

PM me if you want to check it out, I can't invite just anyone - the affliate system is limited so I have to invite people 1 by 1 who are truly interested.

Well to each its own. But its funny how you just said use your mouse wheel, that's the issue you shouldn't have to scroll back in almost after every time you tab out. Its a simple fix literally 1 command something on the lines of "not-active lock camera" and its done, the fact that it is still an issue (same as the walking annoyances) is that the owners just dont care.

Do you always finish in profit with Feather tree?

I doubt if you miss more than 1 or 2 days every month you will always finish in profit. But if you log in all 30/30 days, its pretty much guaranteed - considering you KNOW that other players will miss a day or two and their pot comes to you. My profit for my first month was 90 gross, 60 net. .03btc bet, .06 btc earned.

This month, I got .05 btc or 50 bitmil in a single day. So I am already way ahead. (maybe everyone was on a holiday at once.)

I cannot speak for next month obviously, but breaking even seems like worst case scenario - and thus if you exercise self control and dont gamble on everything in sight, profit is inevitable with the herbs I find daily and the soldier statues giving anywhere from 1000 satoshi to 20000 satoshi - easy profits there. Just don't gamble nonstop on everything in sight lol.

Either that or nobody has complained about it enough. I scroll my mouse to the top of the screen before I tab out - but I agree with you it is slightly annoying. I can contact teppy and tell him that players find this an issue.

Also, in world of warcraft, if you try to run up a hill, the terrain pushes you back and you just run at an angle. This should be the same with DT. I 100% agree with you there.

Lastly, it's not so much about the gameplay as it is the gambling. Most gambling games are boring and mindless - but every game in DT is so unique, a few are frustrating (feeding ducks), but most are loads of fun. (I especially love fishing and kicking benches.) So perhaps that is why they don't make changes? Though I agree they should. Doesn't deter me from playing daily.

The ability to teleport anywhere you have visited at will is awesome - but they do need to fix the pathing issue. :/ I will contact teppy and see how difficult that is to program. Thanks for your feedback brutha!  Cool

I wanted to try it but had my wallet at the computer at the time and it asked if I'm sure about installing a potentially unsafe client so I didn't have the guts to try it... Looked kind of awesome for a bitcoin game, though.

If you can run mario 64 or similar 3d roms, I am sure this will work. It runs on windows and mac. Any 3d graphics card should be able to run it, it's not too intensive. worth a shot. 0.7 gigabyte download filesize.

I have played this game way back, but I'm not much of a gambler myself, was thinking only of making money out of  it without initial investment, which is basically impossible and very tiring, which is understandable nevertheless.

But it's still a bit dull, it doesn't have that many users online at the same time so you mostly end up alone in there dropping coconuts from palms.
