I'm using the one which is simply called "Bitcoin wallet". It does the job very well and is simple to use.

Not if you have a copy of your private key. Be careful with installing apps, there could be one or more apps trying to steal your btc.

https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
what is the best bitcoin wallet for android?

I used bitcoin wallet and it works fine but don't forget to back-up the wallet or you would lose your wallet and its funds in case of loss or destruction of your phone.

MyCelium seems to be the safest solution on Android; moreover it requires no blockchain download, so it's also a light wallet.

Yeah but then we have the same problem as before, because your wallet is stored on a server -> At Bitcoin Wallet, your wallet is stored on the device, not on a external service.

I recommend Mycelium. You keep control of your private keys and it can track watch-only addresses (paper wallets) too.

I recommend Mycelium. You keep control of your private keys and it can track watch-only addresses (paper wallets) too.

I recommend Airbitz. It is very easy to use and very secure. Unlike Mycelium, your keys are never stored unencrypted.

Mycelium is still the best in terms of security, speed and ease of use, plus I also like the name given. Next choice would be "bitcoin wallet" which was used to be great but after the upgrade there were some issues. You just have to try it out to realize the advantage each wallet has over the other.
