I like how unsuccessfully he stifled a laugh when referring to Mastercard's "greater transparency, and security, and simplicity". Cheesy

At least he makes his intentions plain at the end:

"I certainly don't want anybody mining technology or mining financial services away from my control."

Certainly.

Wow!

He doesn't even sound like he believes anything he's saying.

Agree.

You can see it on his face.

He really seems like he's telling a BIG FAT LIE
at 4:16 when he says "Why does somebody
need to be anonymous".

"NOW, We at mastercard are not completely uuum comfortable with the idear of cryptocurrency largely because they go against the whole principle we have established our business on which is moving to a world beyond cash....."

BTC is a world of cash and beyond cash. It is a network, and foundation of new monetary system.

The more they complain about unfair advantage, the more people took notice of bitcoin. It's more like free advertising for us and indirectly that helps the btc price. Obviously we are moving in the right direction.

most definitely. however bitcoin never set out to be a threat, just an (better than equal)  option.

Videos like this are just making me very confident about Bitcoin.

Yah, anybody who has any even slightly negative feelings about credit cards is gonna watch that and be all "BITCOIN!!!! GOTTA GET BITCOIN!!!"

... and anybody ambivalent to mildly happy with Mastercard is just gonna be puzzled, but it plants a seed.

Even anybody who is wildly ecstatic about Mastercard, is gonna cheer him on then next time they want to get lingerie or a "marital aid" as a surprise for their SO... they're gonna be all "Wait a freaking second, some degree of anonymity would actually be nice."

LOL it seems that even MasterCard president is afraid of us:
This is good sight, really.
It seems that we are on the good way to replace MasterCard soon Smiley
When their users realize that they can send their money faster, more secure and without ridiculous bank fees, like wiuth Mastercard, it's obvious what they will choose!

Come on guys...hear the guy out.

Maybe we can make some compromises?

We could start charging 2% transaction fees (meet in the middle).

No more anonymity...I think that would be a nice gesture.

We could all put our full names, addresses, social security numbers along with our bitcoin keys and put it all in a central database to be hacked.

It's called respect for those who have paved the way for you. Try showing some.

And we could allow people to get paid in bitcoins from people who don't actually have bitcoins. But those people can get charged 18% for paying later (since they don't have enough money to pay up front).

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

I guess the increasing ease of payment to merchants through simplified interfaces is starting to crank up the pressure a bit for them. In that case, good.

I do think that one interesting point is that all the major players in banking/finance/payments are directly talking about bit coin and the idea of crypto currency. Whether in a positive or negative light, they are all taking note/taking action. I think this alone speaks volumes about the potential for bitcoin.

lol this dude sounds a bit desperate, he's on the defensive all the way through the video.
When has MasterCard gone to great lengths to stop something in the past? - never.

Today, they've hired many lawyers and lobbyists to go to congress to stop Bitcoin.  Now they are taking senior executives time making YouTube videos begging people to be worried about untrustworthy Bitcoin.

Bottom line: they are shitting bricks.

They know the end is near for their business methods.

Can't trust Bitcoin?!  HA!  Can't trust Visa/MasterCard.  Bitcoin is a trustless system.  There is no need to 'trust' anyone or anything.  It just works.

On the other hand, you can trust MasterCard for sure - you can trust they are going to take a bunch of your money in fees.  This is guaranteed.

I am laughing my head off as I did not expect this kind of desperation for several more years.  Bitcoin is way ahead of what I imagined.

The funny thing is, this guy probably understands Bitcoin at a much higher level than his peers.  This is why he is so worried and the others are just sitting around.

fuck him

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.
