I would also recommend looking at  https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

That is the white paper written by Satoshi Nakamoto. This whole thing is really about what is written in that document.

I'm new to Bitcoin.  I have no idea where to start.  Does anyone know of a site that can tell me what I need to do?  I know I need to get a wallet.  But, not sure where or any of that stuff.

The reason I want to get into Bitcoin is because I saw it at Fiverr.  I saw that I can pay for gigs using it.  I would like to find some kind of online work that I do to earn Bitcoins.  Then use them at Fiverr.  That might not make any sense.  But, I need to buy services online that I can't do myself.  Is it difficult to find grunt type of work online that pays in Bitcoins?  Really I'm just looking to make 50 to a few hundred dollars.  Enough to fund this aspect of the project I'm working on.
the first place you should look into is https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started follow the links to learn and choose wallet. and for earning bitcoin you can take a look into services section for signature campagns and also faucets are there for tiny amount of bitcoins

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Not much signature campaigns for newbies and would not recommend them either, wait till you get to Member status.
You can start with somewhere 0.05 per month. For all others you can look here Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns.

First install an anti-virus. Then get a bitcoin wallet. There are many varieties, so a lot to choose from. Once you have a bitcoin wallet installed you have a bitcoin address. This address can be used to receive bitcoins. Finally create backups.

My advice is to use Linux Ubuntu and not install Java (and Flash). It's much more safer than Windows.
