Hi guys!

My partner and I have a gallery for local artists (focused mainly on paintings but some sculptures are exhibited also).
We had an offer from a gentleman that wanted to pay with bitcoin, which was quite surprising for us!
Max, my partner, he knows a bit about bitcoin, even bought some a few years ago... I think it was around 50... when they were worth 10 dollars. Sold at 15!!! If only we had had a crystal ball!.

Anyway, so we are building a website and about to start a photo shoot to have a catalog online.
Our question is, how would you create ads to target bitcoin users?

Aside from the Google Adwords, Bing/Yahoo network, can you guys think of any other way to show ads to the community online?

Thank you!!!

You could try a signature campaign on this forum, like this one:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=877765.0

It would be nice to see some signature campaigns that don't involve gambling.
Or you could at least put it into your own signature, but that would involve getting active on the forum.
http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ is also a good way to advertise.

Making a blog about the process might also work.

The problem about google adwork is that you don't really target bitcoin-users with it.

Start a topic in the market place section and post your new paintings regularly. That is the easiest way.

Local media might be interested on a slow news day, something art and something tech. Do a demonstration for them of how it works.

Add the 'accept bitcoin' logo to your gallery website. That is the first thing I would do and is the most eye catching thing to have. Also you might want to consider adding your business listing to directories like for example spendbitcoins dot com. That should help you get noticed

You can advertise on this forum itself. There's a space below the OP of every thread and you can put your advertisement there, which will ensure that every person that visits this forum will get a look at it at one time or the another. You have to contact Theymos or ask Admins how to do that. You can always do a sig-campaign or Social Media Campaign.

You could invest in advertising on the btc advertising networks

some most used are:

Investing could be as low as $ 3,- worth of bitcoins for a lot of exposure.

It could be simple text adds, but pictures of the art and a line that says 'buy art with bitcoin' would attract more users

And do post a link on this forum, for I am curious for the art you are going to sell Smiley

Also, if you want to attract Bitcoin users...show art that includes boobs. Tongue

But seriously, market is still very nerd heavy, so fantasy and sci-fi themes would go down well.

Offering an interview to a journalist from Coindesk would be my first move however I'd expect they're very selective about their articles given the popularity of the website.

For sale of art, I would recommend AppleByte, the digital currency supporting the arts, instead of Bitcoin.

The community is wholly focused on the arts, and very active across social media.

Make an update to your site: "We now accept BitCoin" or something, with a bitcoin logo of course. Also, if you have a Google Adwords campaign running ad or Facebook ad, add some bitcoin related keywords like "art gallery bitcoin"

Signature campaigns are a great way to build publicity.
Even the buzz around starting a signature campaign can be helpful.  Smiley

Your opinion has just been discounted.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

How 'bout art, boobs and leather?

The same artist, my brother-in-law, did three seats for Steven Tyler's bikes, two of which are housed in his museum, the other he rides daily (weather permitting, assumed).

He also did tooled all the leather holsters for some governor-cum-wrestler.
