Are you wanting people to share their stories of how they've been scammed? And it's pretty easy to avoid: just don't send your money to scammers.

Does it sound to good to be true, are they promising a huge return, etc. Use escrow on trades, especially if low trust or new person you are buying from. Other things on miners try to use a company with a long history, and also try not to pre-order.

Sending money first to noob accounts is a surefire way of getting scammed, using a trusted escrow can minimize the risk but you're still putting trust into someone who could run off with the funds.
The only time I've been scammed was with a hefty chargeback by Paypal, haven't used Ebay / Paypal since.

I haven't been scammed, but here are some general advice to minimize your chance of getting scammed.
1. Stay away from too good to be true trades. 2. Use escrow whenever it is applicable. 3. Keep your bitcoin safely in your own wallet instead of storing it on an exchange or gambling site.

My trust has been abused once or twice long before Bitcoin making me very vigilant in who I trust these days in all matters of business.
I prefer not to share the story but offer advise that your trust should never be easy to gain.

Good site to avoid getting scammed: http://btcrow.com/When in doubt, use a trusted intermediary or middle man. Bitcoin payments and transactions are irreversible, so no the risks going into a purchase or deal.

1.) Do your research before pre-ordering any mining equipment. Or better yet, avoid mining all together. 2.) Avoid HYIP's like the plague (i.e. bitcoin-trader.biz), they are all scams. 3.) Avoid investing in bogus assets on unproven digital asset exchanges 4.) Research, research, research! Can't emphasize this enough. If your gut is telling you something is too good to be true, it more than likely is. 5.) If/when purchasing anything from anybody off bitcointalk, always use escrow if person your buying from isn't a highly trusted member of the community (be aware, many long-term accounts have been sold on the open market, so just because somebody is a Hero member doesn't mean they got that way legitimately)

2. Where you scammed and how? No. 3. How can you get scammed? By sending BTC to a party who does not intent to offer you their services. Use escrow.

Don't make any trade if a new site or a new person insistently asks you to send bitcoin first. If it is an old and trusted site or person, well then it is up to you to say how much you trust it.

Pretty much everyone asking you to send them coins in return for more coins later will turn out to be a scammer. It doesn't matter if their excuse for needing the coins is mining, trading or whatever the next big thing will be.

Yup you should always use escrow, and you also need to make sure you are really talking to that escrow. Some people were scammed in the past by sending their bitcoin to the "escrow", without realizing it is an imposter with a very similar user name.

I have not personally tried it, but bitbond was discussed here in this thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=901412.0The last guy that replied, stup2plending, testified to have interviewed the owner and says he's legit. They also have an account here in the forums, albeit still a newbie. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=384308The btclendingclub, on the other hand, was just suggested by other people on the forum. But I do agree that btcjam is the most well known of the three, so it would be best to use that.

I read some reports earlier that coinbase has banned some accounts just because they have transactions to and from gambling sites, but generally speaking the two sites have been working pretty well as of today. But we can never be sure if they will one day turn rogue. Mtgox was looking good, so as TradeFortress.

It will be helpful for the beginners and So other can avoid this thing and can save his money from scammers. So please tell us 1. How do you scammed by someone and how much? Thanks Who will share his story , I've never got scammed or scammed someone , never ! not even once . Because I simply never go first and if I do I make sure that the member is high trusted and made a lot of trades with High amounts of money before . It's really not that hard to avoid scammers to be honest (at least it's not for me)

After posting this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=882055.0 , many people wanted to know that how do you scammed by someone. It's really not that hard to avoid scammers to be honest (at least it's not for me) But some time some one don't care about this Like me first time when I was scammed by some one he is paying me little higher amount then other I traded my amount with him, he has some reputation but not much just one or 2 trades but he scammed me. And fly after taking my all amount. The point is never sell or trade with those who are paying the more amount then other, and see his reputation, whether he is a reputable member or not. And always use escrow. Thanks

First time i lost 70$ in trading my stellar. And never learned from it and second time i lost 60 $. Third time it was my biggest mistake and i lost almost 90$ while trading my stellar in a site.

I never get scam There a lot of escrow service here. Scammer can't do anything How can I prevent to get scamed?I understand the rules of escrow, ok. But if I want to trade some rare or unpopular coin may I expect that the escrow provider will have his own local wallet to get coins first and then send them to me after my payment?

At what price you started loving yiur price lol... You can use it at any price if you dont want to loose it, it may be 1$ or it can be 100. best rule to go by: if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.
Should i said +1 most probably it may be usually people that loan on here are the ones that talk about being scammed and get scammed. but you can be scammed from your wallet by a virus.
It may be, but if you use an escrow then you will be safe. Some time you were scamed by ponzi site. So dont go there they always scam you earliar or later.
