Sites like Kickstarter do exist for bitcoins as well. And might be perffect for it.

$6? Tell me you're not that guy who did a joke fundraiser for potato salad and ended up throwing a huge picnic for people. Seriously, though, fundraising in Bitcoin CAN be done but it's difficult, possibly even more difficult than getting noticed on Kickstarter because most Bitcoin fundraising sites just don't have the visibility. Which basically means you'll be the one doing the legwork and I wouldn't be doing a lot of begging for donations here on Bitcointalk.

I would say I was half kidding and half serious.  I see people on YouTube and Twitter begging for money.  I mean crowdfunding.  I've actually thought about becoming a professional online beggar.  The whole capitalist dream hasn't really worked out so well for me.  In fact, I'm pretty bad at it.  I'm not sure if I'd be better at begging, but it might be worth a try.

You'd be better off using kickstart with dollars and using bitcoin to convert into dollars and back.

You could state that all funds will become bitcoins or something.
