paper wallet is for pure cold storage,it is focused on not moving bitcoins unless you really need them
hardware wallet is a secure method of making transactions and you can use it as a cold storage too

I think a plasticized paper wallet is the best way to store the bitcoin (for a long term) , but the trezor is a good compromised if you want to store and use bitcoin in the same time.

I would stick with a paper wallet, as a hardware wallet is an extra investment of 120$, even though I bought one lately. But paper wallets should be convenient 90% of the times.

Take any old unused hard drive....
... and carve the keys into the metal.
... put it in a baggie
... half fill a coffee can with concrete
... drop it in.
... fill 'er up
... rent post hole auger with extension.
... go down about 10ft
... drop it in.
... fill it in
... build patio over it.
... head for the mountains when nuclear war imminent
... live there 5 years in cave
... scavenge jackhammer
... bust up top foot of glass over location of former patio
... dig down
... recover private key and wish they'd hurry up and get the internet working again...

Of course paper walet, it's cheaper & safer than hardware wallet But, it's only for cold storage I will choose Hardware wallet especially Trezor because i think it's cool & can used as hot wallet

Looks like I should add a hardware wallet to my Xmas list.
I use paper wallets in my bank safety deposit for cold storage.
I use blockchain app for hot wallet, but seems like hardware wallets are all the rage.

Most important variable is probably your own ability to successfully store your bitcoin. If you know what you are doing with paper wallets i'd say that is better vs trezor.

Paper wallet is for long term storage. It is free and secure. A hardware wallet is for every day use. They have different functions. If you have to compare hot wallets to software clients, I will choose hardware wallet.

Lol And OP, I think it all depends on how much btc you're trying to secure, if you have a lot of bitcoin then Trezor is best imo, else a paper wallet is great for cold storage.

If it needs electricity to run, sooner or later it will break down. Paper is a way better solution for long term cold wallets.

Paper wallets as they're pretty much free to make.
Looking to buy a hardware wallet in the future, the prices for them are still a little too high for a scrooge like me.
