So I'm trying to turn my old tower into an inefficient miner. It has a Radeon 8500 PCI not PCI express graphics card. Pretty old, I know. So far all of my research has returned that it is incompatible with OpenCL and thus not a candidate for mining.

Any thoughts and or suggestions?

I may have another graphics card or two out in the garage. I'll take a look.

Has anybody else tried mining with something this old? Does Phoenix use OpenCL or something else? Could I still start mining with my CPU? Point me to a guide?

incompatible with OpenCL = unsuitable for mining. Go get a newer card.
