That's a fair question.

Ledger Wallet is a product from La Maison du Bitcoin, a Bitcoin center in Paris, and BTChip also a well known company in the Bitcoin space.
As we are a security company, reputation is everything. We would have too much to lose by skimming our affiliates or not paying them what they are own (we do weekly payouts).

Our names, address, and company registration documents are public (http://www.ledger.co). We are very legit, and we have invested a lot of time and energy into the development of our hardware wallet.
We are in this for the long term, and want to develop strong and stable business relations with reliable partners. So we will provide excellent support and service for our affiliate program.

Yes, it is a device you connect to your computer through your USB port. The wallet doesn't hold any bitcoin, it protects private keys. As it is a HD wallet, it can derives an infinite amount of address. So there is no limit of what you can do with the Ledger Wallet.

The device is certified EAL5+, meaning it has been semiformally designed and tested.

It doesn't hold a bitcoin but only protect a private key

In case of loss of the wallet, you can recover your seed (and your access to your bitcoins) thanks to a 24 words paper backup.

Just small part of all BTC users are very sensitive to wallet security, and they already use something  Grin The same as with E mail security - people are not interested.

We are working on NGC and BLE prototypes, which will be also compatible with iOS and Android.
Release is expected in ~6 months.

Looking forward to it. I don't think there is any hardware wallets compatible with smart phones at the moment.
