No startup faucet, can sustain 500 Satoshi per hour. They will go belly up, after the first week. If you can manage that, you will get a lot of NEW users fast, and you will have to go negative balance, until you get paid.  

With my calculations, if you have a faucet paying 500 Satoshi per hour and you had 100 000 people registered, you will need to have $166 US per hour.
If they only tapped it for a average of 8 times a day =  $1328 per day. {That is why, only BIG guys can fund like that}

True, but getting 100k traffic is a lot..! a starting faucet shoudln't get that much in the first weeks..

You can probably just get a few cents an hour from faucets, so I agree it is a waste of time for most people. But it may make some sense for those in undeveloped countries.
