Hi, I would like to start a bounty for someone to make a mining corporation on an IRL market. It doesn't really have to be Nasdaq, it could be one of those smaller ones. I think one's called OTC-BB? It would be a cool way to advance BTC, and I would definitely invest in it! I want to start it with .1 BTC. I know that is literally nothing, but I'm kinda BTC-poor. I hope some other people put up some too. Bai, -Daniel

Even getting a cheap OTC ticker via a reverse merger can cost about $30,000. You'd better up your bounty.

GLBSE is an IRL market. And I'm looking forward to watching it "grow up."

Well, fuck. Hi, I would like to start a bounty for someone to make a mining corporation on an IRL market. It doesn't really have to be Nasdaq, it could be one of those smaller ones. I think one's called OTC-BB?
GLBSE is an IRL market. And I'm looking forward to watching it "grow up." It is an IRL market. And I really hope it grows up, but it can only have investors that are interested in Bitcoin. I just feel like expanding would be good. I guess there are very few people that this would be practical for, sadly (given the $30,000 "fee").

Not necessarily. Someone who specialized in helping "regular businesses" IPO on GLBSE could change that. I'm not sure if that's in accordance with Nefario's vision for GLBSE, though. Also, it may be smarter to keep GLBSE "strictly bitcoin" for legal reasons.

A mining corp. will probably confuse people, just get a good company that accepts bitcoins on the exchange, that is it. Mining corps wouldn't even have a good business plan to make impact for people to see.

If you think about it, IPOing on a non-BTC stock market is disadvantageous for all the reasons that non-BTC money is disadvantageous when compared to bitcoin.
There is no reason for someone to do it except for the legal protection you can get (whereas you can't rely on the law when you IPO on a BTC stock market).

What is an "IRL" market?
In Real Life People are using this to distinguish non-BTC-denominated markets from BTC-denominated markets.

Also, it may be smarter to keep GLBSE "strictly bitcoin" for legal reasons. Theres nothing preventing someone creating a share brokerage that mirrors gbse in fiat denominated funds. All you need to do is use the glbse api to get the prices and convert them to fiat using mt gox latest. This way it doesnt have to involve glbse except as a listing vehicle.

I think this idea has some merit. Of course I live in Northern Ontario where "mining stocks" are quite popular and everyone trades tips and gossip about mining companies.
