I would like to congratulate everyone on this forum with this special eternity message https://blockchain.info/address/1MerryXmasAndAHappyNewYear123sFoou in the form of a special bitcoin valid address transaction.

As you know all the bitcoin transactions are kept in all the bitcoin servers of the bitcoin network and that is why the transaction and the special message it holds stays forever (or at least until bitcoin exists).

I hope you like this Christmas congratulation.

If you would like to greet someone of your friends with customized message of this type I will be happy to generate a valid bitcoin address you can use. My bitcoin address is "1Addresss3x3GV25jRkMCMoAMJz584xXn4" My e-mail "peet at abv.bg". The message should be no more than 27 letters base58 (no 0 or O or I or l allowed). I think 0.003 would be suitable service payment.

Please use only positive messages Smiley Be responsible for the next generations reading your bitcoin special address transactions Smiley

Merry Christmas and a Happy 2015 Year !

Thanks and merry xmas to you too but wouldn't it just be easier and cheaper to just add a message to the transaction?

Wow! How long did it take to generate an address that long? I'm surprised you were able to generate one with that many custom characters.

Nah, it's not technically his as he doesn't have the private key to it (hopefully, LOL). It's like this address: https://blockchain.info/address/1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

By making it, I assume that he makes the checksums and etc work, hereby generating a legit bitcoin address.

Ah that makes sense. I totally didn't think that he might not have the private key to this address. Duh!

Bitkilo: The transaction information stays forever, but the additional info is temporary and doesn't stay in time capsule for the ages to come Smiley.

Using such 'special' bitcoin addresses is useful if you like to leave Short SMS to the world to:
1. Leave a message to the next generations (1DearSon...). Smiley
2. Greet a friend for anniversary or ... something (1Congratulations...)
3. Say something important and "memorable" Smiley (1DearWorldToday...)
4. Remember forever what happened today Smiley (1TodayWeFound...)
5. Leave a hint to yourself to be able to remember ... something Smiley
6. Declare your intentions in stone Smiley (1WontSmokeAnymore...)
7. Be creative. Share ideas with others Smiley

SpreadBit: Yes it is possible to create addresses and use them.
For example the address "12345678kQEmyaAoiQNYfam33WXfmpMSp1" can be used if you have the private key "5KGqWmamaD3rEbSmv1HY3CGyTnczjiBL9QhUKGtzXN29bKnMCFE"
You import address in bitcoin qt core software by typing at debug console:
importprivkey 5KGqWmamaD3rEbSmv1HY3CGyTnczjiBL9QhUKGtzXN29bKnMCFE
When "the message" in address is short it is easy to have private key, when generating address with long message =27 or =28 characters the private key could not be used - the address is usefull ony for sending bitcoins (and using message that way), but cannot be used for receiving bitcoins.
