Most of us use the blockchain without understanding the underlying structure. Today's blog by Bytemaster explains it in a simple way. This was new to me, and as a Bitshares fan I am particularly excited by the ability to seamlessly build a scripting environment. The discussion can be followed in the forum.

This is quite interesting. Are there any wallets who compete on the amount of functionality that Bitshares has ?

This is quite interesting. Are there any wallets who compete on the amount of functionality that Bitshares has ? bitshares core is modified ripple code, you can easily make sure of it trying this https://download.ripple.com/plus, their peg concept is not working as intended, unless crypto community believe in this project and put strong demand to bitassets https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=7843.0;allso, nothing prominent as yet.

Really? You provide a thread from AUGUST to prove the peg is not "working as intended"?? BitAssets were launched in August! The peg has been working perfectly ever since price feeds were introduced to the system. And I'm not sure where you're getting that BTS is modified Ripple...? BTS is like Ripple, but a hell of a lot more decentralized, and that's it.

BitShares was built by Invictus Innovations from the ground up minus library dependencies. How could downloading a ripple client prove your claim anyways? That doesn't make sense at all. Try comparing the sources instead: https://github.com/bitshareshttps://github.com/ripple

This is quite interesting. Are there any wallets who compete on the amount of functionality that Bitshares has ? Market pegged assets are unique to BitShares. There's overlapping functionality with other features such as user issued assets, but unique features for those are coming soon to BitShares too.

Bytemaster makes a case for funding development through dilution/delegate fee instead of pre-sales in his latest blog post. Bitshares initially raised funding through donations through a company and had to tackle a lot of topics ranging from legal to tax issues. The funding method now which have been implemented, delegate pay, is an elegant way to do it.

It was an informative blog, and I was quite excited about Bitshares having a better structure in place fro smart contracts as compared to Ethereum. The discussion is continued at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=905616.0

BitShares Newsletter - NO.13 - December 2014 "There is lots of news this month. Our biggest newsletter ever! It’s also the first of a new kind – published by a decentralized community. Invictus Innovations Inc. (I3) has successfully worked itself out of a job – as we have long planned. I still hope to contribute monthly newsletter articles. But if I didn’t, this newsletter would still come out on the same, ah, regular schedule. It has over a dozen authors already. You’ll hear from them shortly." - BitcoinBoost Read the entire newsletter below. http://us3.campaign-archive1.com/?u=ac6976e87d9e9f0eac4bbf19c&id=1f981f6040

Bytemaster provides a step-by-step tutorial on how to register a Bitshares account. If you're new to Bitshares and downloading the wallet for the first time you will find this useful.
