Hi there,
I was using Electrum , Pretty nice and I liked the 12 words seed thing that they have .booom ! I wake up , and the .exe of Electrum dosen't open at all (It happened once before I wipe my PC , after wiping it ... Installed it back ,worked couple of days then not working anymore again)

Anyway ... I decided to use Bitcoin Core as Bitcoin wallet and it's downloading the Blockchain file right now or whatever his name is
I'am exploring the wallet (features etc.. ) but I can seem be able to find an option to Export Private keys of my wallet or any other option to take backup of my wallet so I don't lose my coins in case of a computer failure or something.  Roll Eyes

Thank you guys

Perhaps try File -> Backup Wallet?

(am going from memory but I think that is where it is)

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

The file size shouldn't be very big (unless your wallet has a large number of keys).

Basically the only file that matters is wallet.dat - so just make sure you have that backed up and you will be fine (of course don't forget your passphrase otherwise the backup is useless assuming you have used a secure passphrase which you should).

I'm not sure if Bitcoin Core has a restore from backup in the UI - but if you ever need to do that you'll find forum members that will help you (so just make sure you keep the backup).

Also - as Bitcoin Core does not use a "seed" you need to make regular backups of your wallet (depending upon how many txs you do) - I'd recommend taking a new backup at least once per week.

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

This is how you Import your private keys into core and for a backup just make a copy of your wallet.dat located in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin whatever size it is.
You can also take a backup of the whole Roaming folder after it's synced which is about 29.6Gb right now just in case. If anything happens just replace the wallet.dat to an old backup copy and do a rescan that'll do.

Oh I see , so the blockchain file don't need to be downloaded each time, a backup of it can do the job for each time ;d ALRIGHT , nice
thank you so much bro

It needs to be synced from the point of your backup date to the current block at that time. If somehow the blockchain gets corrupted just replace it with the backup copy of the folder and it will start catching up.

No, it won't. On every reboot it picks up where you left it.
