I ask this because after viewing multiple threads and discussions I can say many of the users seem a bit naive to say the least and I wonder to myself if they even own bitcoin. I ask myself "Does this person even have a wallet?" So I am just curious to what numbers I can crunch here.

Don't think this poll will give truly reliable/valid results.

I do. And I believe the vast majority of the forum owns at least a satoshi.

I expect everyone to be honest, what would the point be of lying?

Not lying, but there is such a great spread in ownership on this forum - the word "own" or holding bitcoins is not very telling.

You have some members here with a great amount from the early days at one end of the range - some have left.

Then some with satoshis at the other end of the range.

So everyone answers "yes" - does that tell you anything of significance?

Real ownership needs a value to be meaningful, IMO.

That is a logical assumption

The real question should be, "what's the point of buying bitcoin so I can spend it on goods and services that I can already buy with fiat. Why should I take the extra step?" Unless companies like Microsoft and Time also begin offering employee pay in bitcoin, we're going to see continued selling.

I do sir.

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

The reason you will take the extra step is because merchants can receive your payment via bitcoin more efficiently, and will eventually pass along those savings their their customers.

Also when purchasing some kind of service bitcoin offers a much greater level of anonymity then fiat based payment methods

I do own bitcoins, I mine them, I have cloud contracts, I loan them and make interest on them, I have referral business, a website and a facebook group. So with that said.

You should have left your explanation out and just put the poll up, because now the non owners will not say they don't own bitcoins, I mean how can they troll in here if someone out there might know they dont even own bitcoins.

I think the OP is so very right too, and in addition to his post, its even more amazing at the idiots trading bitcoins who have no clue as to what drives a currency market, how currency traded is done, . To sum it up, I am daily amazed at how many complete idiots are in this industry. Seriously, even some of the 2500 posts veterans you can tell just got in, got lucky and have no clue as to what they bought, how they got rich or what to do with the coins they have left over. then try and actually advise people as if they did something astoundingly wonderful.

Well guess what, getting lucky is not astounding, I get lucky in prime dice everyday, but it does not make me a gambling expert.

I think all members here own some bitcoin. Most members like me own less than 1btc and a minority will have more than 10btc. The more they have, the less likely they are going to take part in this poll  Smiley
