Put in place too many boundaries/hoops to jump through and people will find another way to their destination.
All people want to do is spend money for goods EASILY. Boom - bitcoin.

It takes time, the most important thing is to make sure why exactly Bitcoin is better for transferring money and purchasing stuff.
Not long ago I convinced some one (non-tech guy) to at least give Bitcoin a try.
He now use Bitcoin where possible to purchase stuff online where he normally would use paypal.
Explain them what it is, that will help a lot.

For you shopaholics, add BITCOIN to the bottom of the list. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the end result.

The pioneers need to blaze the trails first. At some point the others will follow when they realize the "hard looking path" is actually easier and has less obstacles.

Off-road= BTC It seems nice, in 5 years I'm waiting for bank's Bitcoin acceptance. After that everything is going to happen very easily and quickly... I hope governments don't ban exchange services and sell Bitcoins from banks higher than this price...

Reminds me of this: Once you stray off road to the BTC highway stay on it, and we'll all get there!
