Cheaper per unit plus free shipping. And you don't have to buy that many / forced to host them.

FTFY.

Edit:  Not to mention, they are charging ~$0.11 USD per KwH for hosting.  That seems quite high on this kind of scale, especially considering the units have PSU's and all, so it only covers electricity and networking fees.  What concerns me more is that they clearly at this point have more faith in the selling of hardware then of mining themselves.  What will lack of faith in bitcoin by the manufacturers at this point do for the price of BTC?

It's not that concerning if you're of the camp that believes they have a gen2 of their 28nm chip coming soon.

I'm not sure why you made a thread for this, its already been announced and discussed in the S4 thread. There are too many threads as it is. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=796839.msg9865691#msg9865691

unless you want to resell 1PH, I would just buy 1PH from Amhash for 1200. and receive 6% fee hashrate.

What concerns me more is that those miners behind him are actually set up for mining; as in not manufacture, but farming...

Does that mean Bitmain is actually doing "burn-in-testing" on the live net too (before selling it to "us")?!?
