All cloud mining is a scam, the only difference between cloud miners is to what extent they are a scam. Some will take all of your money and give nothing back, some will take all of your money and give a little back. No one breaks even on cloud mining. (Except perhaps some lucky short term traders, but I wouldn't recommend it.)
That's no different than claiming all mining is a scam because the fake company you tried to buy a miner from didn't send you one. If you bought a miner off a legitimate company and it didn't make you a profit would you call the company a scammer? Being a scam and being profitable are two completely different things. As for legitimate cloud mining services, check out Puppet's
Cloudmining 101 thread.
As for profitability, compare AMHash to buying an SP20 for example:
AMHash
2.04 BTC for 1700 Gh/s, @ 310 USD/BTC = 632.4 USD
Maintenance costs: $2.64 per day (for 1700 GH/s)
SP20
659 USD (excluding shipping, local taxes and PSU cost) for 1700 Gh/s
Maintenance costs: 2.7648 USD @ 0.1 USD/kWh.
