Bitcoin version 0.6.3 is now available for download at:
  http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.6.3/

This is a bug-fix release, with no new features.

Please report bugs using the issue tracker at github:
  https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues

CHANGE SUMMARY
==============

Fixed a serious denial-of-service attack that could cause the
bitcoin process to become unresponsive. Thanks to Sergio Lerner
for finding and responsibly reporting the problem. (CVE-2012-3789)

Optimized the process of checking transaction signatures, to
speed up processing of new block messages and make propagating
blocks across the network faster.

Fixed an obscure bug that could cause the bitcoin process to get
stuck on an invalid block-chain, if the invalid chain was
hundreds of blocks long.

Bitcoin-Qt no longer automatically selects the first address
in the address book (Issue #1384).

Fixed minimize-to-dock behavior of Bitcon-Qt on the Mac.

Added a block checkpoint at block 185,333 to speed up initial
blockchain download.

Thanks to everybody who contributed to this release:

Nice job!

How long does the blockchain download take on average, nowadays, with all the recent optimizations?

Does this version fix another DOS vulnerability or the same as 0.6.2?

Normally these announcements are posted on the Bitcoin.org news as well.  Just a reminder, in case that step just happened to get overlooked.

I noticed the "About Bitcoin-Qt" says 0.6.3-beta while this topic says 0.6.3

Will coincontrol be merged into this version too?

Does this version fix the bug where the balance is miscalculated (getbalance("*") vs getbalance())?
In 0.6.2, I have a 0.059btc difference between what the client displays, and what the csv exports.
Blockchain up to date, all exported transactions are confirmed.

Bounty: Earn up to 68.7 BTC

Every bitcoin release to date has been beta, and that will remain the case for a while.

Certainly not in 0.6.x. We're working on 0.7 which will have many new features and improvements, but 0.6.x only gets bugfixes now. About coincontrol itself: there are still a few implementation problems with it.

That shouldn't be. Have you reported this problem on the issue tracker?

I do Bitcoin stuff.

dumb question, but i when it comes to verfying the sig, i only know how to place the sig file wiht the same name as the .zip on with .asc into the same directory and right click to validate.   What is this sha256 sum thing?  And is that somehow generated off of Gavin's key?  What does it verify and how to i run the check?

OS X Snow Leopard with GPG Tools.

What is this sha256 sum thing?

It is commonly used to verify the integrity of files.

Also, the Bitcoin tray icon is missing (Ubuntu 12.04 - Unity 3D and 2D)... And the text menu too...
If I minimize to the tray icon, the Bitcoin main window becomes inaccessible.

Cheers!

OS X Snow Leopard with GPG Tools.
1. Make sure the SHA256SUMS.asc file hasn't been modified:
Code:
$ gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc
gpg: Signature made Mon Jun 25 10:57:21 2012 EDT using RSA key ID 1FC730C1
gpg: Good signature from "Gavin Andresen (CODE SIGNING KEY) <gavinandresen@gmail.com>"

2. See what file you SHOULD have downloaded:
Code:
$ grep macosx.dmg SHA256SUMS.asc
3de1490d1390e5a085b4bc2217430b3caadd203780a7bfe8751e8d1930f087cc  bitcoin-0.6.3-macosx.dmg

3. Make sure the file you downloaded is exactly the same:
Code:
$ shasum -a 256 bitcoin-0.6.3-macosx.dmg
3de1490d1390e5a085b4bc2217430b3caadd203780a7bfe8751e8d1930f087cc  bitcoin-0.6.3-macosx.dmg

Technically speaking, gavin's raw transaction API gives full coin control.  I agree it is not the same as being implemented in the UI, but it's possible.
