It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

"accepted" is the number shares you have earned. The value depends on the pool's reward system and the total number of shares earned by all the miners.

It depends on the pool and what Stratum diff. is set for you.

I have recently become active again after a long period of inactivity. Cryptographic proof that my account has not been compromised is available.

Im using Bitminter.

Bitminter uses PPLNS and so each share may have different reward depending on the pool's luck.

The expected value of a difficulty-1 share (ie. in a 0% PPS setup), is "block reward" / mining difficulty.
