I think so. Smiley
The bull run has begun. Cheesy

What is your opinion?

Maybe not but it seems like a great time to enter the market. A price of 680$ would mean a 100% return!

Bitcoin "went to the moon" a few times already. I'm pretty sure it's not going to recover back to those old highs anytime soon. But the recent rise seems pretty big. Would anyone know WHY this is happening?

I would not call this a bull run. IT went up slightly but in the past week or so it crashed much quicker and more than it has gone back up. This is more or less just a rebound. 2015 will probably decide whether it will be like 2014 and a slow decline or a plateau or the opposite with a slow or fast increase.

Not yet, just a quick dead cat bounce imo.
A bull run should start after a long boring period.

I am very bullish. The whales bought low after crashing the price. (My thinking...) Now they would want to push the price high to sell it.  Wink

Those aren't whales... That volume is almost totally insignificant. These are small fish buying

Maybe, maybe not. It is much too soon to tell. Over the past several months we have seen the price go from roughly 400 to 300 then back to 400 (and so on an so forth). What we saw is really just a continuation of the above.

In order for it to be considered a bull market again the price will likely need to break ~450 or so

You know things are bad when a 5% increase in price sparks lots of optimistic posts. No, this isn't the start to a bull run imo.

Really still too early to tell! If I had to put my money on it, I'd say we're in for another dip. But I don't know how low, a week ago I would've said a re-test of the $270s approximately. That would give us a nice and strong support, but we'd have to lift off from there or prepare for low $200s (I don't want to see those again!)

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

Haven't been able to predict any of the prior runs that resulted in orders of magnitude higher price.  This time will be no different I'm sure.  It usually comes when you think it's going to stay at some low number forever.  Then, before you know it, the price has doubled and the real run is in full effect.   The real run will begin when big money finally goes all in.

The first Battle of Bull Run was the beginning of a long and bloody civil war. This bloodshed is only virtual, but the war against financialization is just as important.

Very true, but we will have a nice bounce to over 350

ooooh I'm tingling with delight that someone has alluded to bitcoins fatal flaw.
Such issues are far more complex than generally understood. In fact you now have me intrigued. Besides the moral ambiguities, what fatal flaw has you concerned?

The price has been wandering around in the $300 - $400 range for months. Once in a while there's a brief excursion outside that range, then it comes back.

The current price is below an hour ago, a day ago, a week ago, a month ago, and a year ago. What bull market?

Some are so desperate to see a bull market return that they see it as soon as the price goes up 10$. The bull market will return but it may take months.

It will be great when it finally explode again, probably in 2015. In the meantime, we just try to get hold of enough BTC.
