Hi there I have a nice amount of bitcoins and am looking for a good place to move where I can live off of selling bitcoins on LocalBitcoins.com
From bitcoins to the local currency.

The criteria is the following:

1) Somewhere im not going to get arrested for not  having licenses (like those guys in Florida)
2) Somewhere I may be able to exchange btc for a markup (possibly a country with expensive or unreliable exchanges )

Thanks.

Hmm... What about New Zealand? There are plenty of LocalBitcoins sellers here already though so the competition might be too much.

obviously a country with low cost of living..

third world countries are best.

after all 1 bitcoin is just a weeks salary in america but it can be a couple months salary in the more impoverished countries

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

California, Silicon Valley...come to where people embrace this stuff and know about it and talk about it and use it.

You shouldn't be able to exchange BTC for a markup, that goes against the ENTIRE concept of Bitcoin. If you want to get your money for a markup you need to move to North Carolina or NYC and start a bank, sell loans for big interest and enjoy your markup.

1 Bitcoin a week is poverty in America...just a tad over $17,000 at today's rate.

Move to New York, best place to buy and sell bitcoins under-the-table.

Im kidding of course.

But on a more serious note, you can completely remove "Best US State" from the title. If you're making a living off selling BTC, then no state would be ok, because you're still under federal regulation as a money transmitter. You need to be registered with FINCEN, and have license in all states if you don't want any restrictions on who to sell to. Best move out of the country if you're going big with this.

I know before they started blocking the site in Germany, guys in the Stuttgart area were charging at least 20% per transaction.

Why not just jump on localbitcoins and check out the competition? I started offering 10% and had someone contact me almost daily, some driving hours. Of course, my competitors started dropping their prices.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

Given the attack and prosecution of Kim Dotcom, I doubt how long New Zealand will remain a safe heaven.

This would probably be one of the better states to earn money from LBC (or other p2p bitcoin trades), assuming you are willing to take the risks of violating the law (which I would recommend against doing).

You would likely be able to have the highest spreads as both parties would likely be willing to pay a premium for privacy and the ability to trade bitcon when they otherwise cannot do so

Unfortuately, in third world countries, it is not easy to find buyers/sellers.
Adoption is still low.  Sad

Well, South Carolina requires no money transmitter license.  Smiley
