-=> BTCitcoin Galore <=-

If you like lotteries, here you will find the one for you! Bitcoin Galore is a bitcoin lottery based on Bitmessage. It started in August 2014 and it's mostly known only within the Bitmessage community until now.

- like Bitcoin and Bitmessage it's decentralized
- it uses cool technology
- it doesn't require accounts, it's completely anonymous
- playing is extremely cheap ( 10 bits = 0.00001 BTC for each try )
- simple and safe

The lottery generates 6 numbers ranging from 1 to 90 every 100th block of the blockchain (about once a day) through an algorithm (published in the game help).

You can play by specifying one or more combination of 6 numbers (a combo) for only 10 bits/each (0.000001 bitcoins). When the winning combo is generated, each played combo is assigned one point for every matching number. If the combo scores 3, 4, 5 or 6 points it wins a prize.

There are 4 categories of prizes: 3 points, 4 points, 5 points, 6 points. On every round, the prize in each category is shared between winning combos of the same category. If there are no wins for that category, the prize rolls over: it's added to the same category prize of the next round.

Prizes are quite exciting. On average a 3 points combo prize is around 500 bits (50x), a 4 points combo 30,000 bits (3,000x), a 5 points combo 1,500,000 bits (150,000x). So far there were no 6 points combo winners, actually the prize is around 38,000,000 bits (38 BTC) and growing.

You need to install Bitmessage ( https://bitmessage.org/ ) for playing. Once installed you can retrieve the game instructions sending a bitmessage to the address BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek with the word HELP and any random word (everytime different) in the subject, like this:

Quote from: example: how to retrieve game instructions
From:
My Bitmessage Address
To:
BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek
Subject:
HELP any_random_word
Message:
<empty>

You should also subscribe to Bitcoin Galore news to receive game reports each round. You just need to click the "Subscriptions" tab on the Bitmessage client and then select "Add new Subscription". You just have to insert "Bitcoin Galore" in the label field and the Bitcoin Galore address BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek in the Address field, then click OK.

I started this project for fun. I used to play lotteries, but they all have a sensible house-edge and the way numbers are chosen is not clear. Bitcoin Galore has no house edge and the numbers are generated from the blockchain through a public alogrithm based on SHA512. Currently each bet is divided into 30 slices, each slice divided in the 4 categories and added to the respective prize one slice at every next round. This is done to achieve a smooth and constant increase of the prizes. Transaction costs for the payouts are deducted proportionally from the next round prizes.

If you have questions or advices for improving the service, you can contact me here or through Bitmessage at the address BM-2cTgDs4XPE2vNFqMGEe49jhRyfDeat22ba .

** Quick start guide **

In order to play you have to follow a procedure that has been designed to be simple and to avoid making any errors. It's simple and safe and if you start from scratch it requires only a few minutes.

- Download and run Bitmessage ( https://bitmessage.org/ ). It's quick, easy and straightforward.

- Create a gameset: write a message to the address BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek with your bitcoin address (where you want to receive prizes) in the subject field. You can add a comment after the address, for your reference. In the body of the message you can specify the combinations you want to play, one per line. A combo is made from 6 numbers. If you write less than 6 numbers, the system automatically completes the combo by adding all possible combinations. If you write more than 6 numbers, the system will play all the possible combos obtained using 6 of all the number specified. If you don't specify any number the system will pick random combos. Gamesets last through rounds, so you can play again the same gameset just sending a bitcoin transaction after the next round begins.

- You will receive a bitmessage containing the resume of the created gameset with the number of all defined combos and the bitcoin address where you can send your bitcoins.

- Send the bitcoins to the received address. If you send less than the required amount, only the first combos covered by the amount are played. If you send more than the required bitcoins, random combos are automatically added to cover up all the sent amount.

- You will receive a notify for the received bitcoin transaction.

- You will receive a further notify when the bitcoin transaction hits 10 confirms and considered valid.

- You will receive a list containing all the played combos, one for each line.

- Cross your fingers and wait for the 6 winning numbers. They are generated every 100 blockchain blocks.

- If any of your combos won a prize you will receive the confirm, and the bitcoin transaction.

If you subscribe to BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek you will receive stats for each round.

Plan your strategy and have fun!

A few advices:

- The first times you play, don't create huge gamesets. Try with smaller ones and get accustomed with the game. You can increase the bet later in next rounds, if you want and if you like playing.

- Keep the bitmessage client running in the background if/when you can: Bitmessage requires some time to sync with the networks. Another reason to keep it open is that Bitmessages responses won't stay online for long time, if a reply is sent and the client doesn't come online within few hours, the message could be lost. In case you miss a message, don't worry: prizes get paid out anyway automatically.

- Empty gamesets (which produce all random combos) turn out to be a valid strategy if you don't have any idea about picking your numbers.

** Demo: how to play **

Here you can find an example on how to play at Bitcoin Galore using Bitmessage.

First we need to create a new gameset:

Quote from: example: create a new gameset
From:
My Bitmessage Address
To:
BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek
Subject:
1Gx9FCknxSsLfFDzFdn75Xgqx95sDp38ir my first game
Message:
3 19 31 54 56 87
6 35 44 61 77
1 27 49 52 66 73 85

What does this message do? In the "From:" field we choose one of our previously generated bitmessage address. In the "To:" field we put the Bitcoin Galore's bitmessage address. In the "Subject:" field we need to place our bitcoin address, where prizes are sent in case of winning. We also added a comment after the address, a note for our convenience. In the message field we can specify the gameset which represents our strategy. If you want to play random combos, you can leave the message empty.

Soon after we should receive a confirm message like this:

Quote from: example: gameset created
From:
BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek
To:
My Bitmessage Address
Subject:
Gameset: 5b0957d8005 - created [my first game] [Eqwm]
Message:
Total defined combos: 93
Send at least [ 0.00093 ] bitcoins (930.0 bits) to address [ 1QEHmDd1cC1JLpfbsJfXUY5netVoooorXV ] to play all your combos.

If you send a smaller amount, not all combos will be played. If you send a bigger amount, randomly generated combos will be added to the requested ones.

In case of winning combos, prizes will be paid to: [ 1Gx9FCknxSsLfFDzFdn75Xgqx95sDp38ir ].

Valid combos included in this gameset:
---
[ 3 19 31 54 56 87 ] : 1 combo - 10.0 bits
[ 6 35 44 61 77 ] : 85 combos - 850.0 bits
[ 1 27 49 52 66 73 85 ] : 7 combos - 70.0 bits

This means that the gameset has been successfully created, and it defines 93 combos in total. The first combo specified is made by 6 numbers and it's the simpler way to play. The second combo has only 5 numbers specified. This means that the system will generate all the possible combos with 6 numbers that cointain the 5 numbers specified. With 5 numbers defined there are 85 possible combos. The third combo is made with 7 numbers, and the system will generate all the possible 6 number combos using the 7 provided numbers. This resulsts in 7 possible combos.

We can also specify combos with less than 5 numbers or more than 7, keeping in mind that every missing number (or added number) leads to an higher number of total combos in the gameset. In the Bitcoin Galore HELP (you can request it with a bitmessage) this concept is explained in details with tables reporting the total number of combos for the various situations.

In the message we also find the address where we can send the bitcoins for playing. Each gameset has it's own bitcoin address. In the example it is: 1QEHmDd1cC1JLpfbsJfXUY5netVoooorXV. Now we just have to send our bitcoins to this address. If less than the required bitcoins are sent, only the first combos covered by the amount will be played. If more than the required amount is sent, random combos will be added to the gameset until it covers the amount sent.

The amount can be sent in one or more transactions within the same round. For example, if we send one transaction of 0.00093 BTC all the combos are played. If we send two transaction of 0.0005 BTC (that is 500 bits), with the first transaction only the first 50 combos are played, with the second the remaining 43 combos are played, plus 7 random combos. If we send 0.0015 BTC, 150 combos are played: the 93 defined and 57 random ones.

The gameset remains valid through rounds. After a round closes and a new one starts, you can send the bitcoins to the same address to play the same combos on the new round. Even the random generated combos remain the same between rounds.

In the example we will send 0.001 bitcoins (1000 bits). At this point everything is done, we should just wait for the transaction to confirm and when the round ends we will discover if we won a prize.

Even if you don't need to do anything more, you will still receive a few informative messages: when the transaction is detected by Bitcoin Galore, you should receive a message like the following:

Quote from: example: transaction received
From:
BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek
To:
My Bitmessage Address
Subject:
Gameset: [5b0957d8005]  bitcoin transaction unconfirmed [8jeb]
Message:
Transaction received: [ 0.001 ] bitcoins (1000 bits) to [ 1QEHmDd1cC1JLpfbsJfXUY5netVoooorXV ].
TXID: [a9e4795577377290e0134a4f5bf4b79685cab90c22002d61b8a38b4203f3bc11]

However it will be considered valid after reaching 10 confirmations whithin the bitcoin network.

After 10 confirmations by the Bitcoin Network, you will receive a message that notifies that the transaction is valid:

Quote from: example: transaction confirmed
From:
BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek
To:
My Bitmessage Address
Subject:
Gameset: [5b0957d8005] bitcoin transaction confirmed [Gxtk]
Message:
Transaction confirmed:  [ 0.001 ] bitcoins to [ 1QEHmDd1cC1JLpfbsJfXUY5netVoooorXV ] in block [ 337858 ] for round [ 3378 ].
TXID: [a9e4795577377290e0134a4f5bf4b79685cab90c22002d61b8a38b4203f3bc11]

You will receive a report with the [ 100 ] combos played.

After a while we should receive the message containing all the played combos. Usually it takes longer to receive the list of combos played because Bitmessage requires an harder proof of work for messages with a bigger size:

Quote from: example: played combos
From:
BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek
To:
My Bitmessage Address
Subject:
Gameset: [5b0957d8005] round [ 3378 ] played combos confirm [o9oq]
Message:
The following combos are valid for round [ 3378 ]:
---
#1: 3 19 31 54 56 87
#2: 1 6 35 44 61 77
#3: 2 6 35 44 61 77

#92: 1 49 52 66 73 85

#97: 17 31 50 54 69 71
#98: 3 14 15 25 56 74
#99: 7 8 24 43 50 57
#100: 12 25 43 46 55 85

If we subscribed the bitcoin galore address on the bitmessage client, we will also receive a notify when the round closes and a notify with the general results of the round.

If we have any winning combo between the ones played, we will receive a message with a detailed report of your wins, and a bitcoin transaction is generated immediately toward your bitcoin address.

If the win is very small, the payout could be delayed to the next round and included into a bigger transaction to save in transaction fees.

I hope this guide clears out all possible doubts. If something is not clear, please ask and I will integrate it.

I agree, it's a really interesting tool.  Users are anonymous, but nobody can impersonate someone else's account.
It's not possible to estimate exactly how big is the community, however it's handling more than 5 thousands messages / day.

Sometimes it takes several minutes to connect to the network.

Check these links:

I think what should be done and what would make it more suceesful is if a install wasn't required, you should make it browser based.

I think what should be done and what would make it more suceesful is if a install wasn't required, you should make it browser based.

That's what I tried to avoid: being based on bitmessage it doesn't need direct internet access. No DDOS attacks possible, geographically distributed, no direct internet connection (so less troubles about firewalls / security, and less costs = higher prizes).

Note: less troubles about security doesn't mean that there are not security measures on the field. All the systems are protected with state-of-the-art methods, but in this case a less complex configuration is needed. Bitmessage adds another layer of security.

Last but not least, Bitmessage is open-source and could be a useful tool and this game is one more reason for installing it and learn how to use it.

Edit: Installing and configuring Bitmessage is a few-clicks operation. Only lazy people wouldn't do it  Grin

Edit2: Connections to a webserver could be logged. On bitmessage there are not connections. Communication is secure because it's guaranteed by the Bitcoin Galore private key and the player's private key. I see a lot of advantages against a little effort for installing it.

I am thinking to introduce a small 2% house-hedge and devolve it to charity. I am evaluating which one to choose, if you have any advice it would be welcome and appreciated. I'd prefer if it's something related to crypto currencies, bitmessage, or any technology that could potentially improve lifes.

To improve the quality of the service, I'd like to have a feedback from all the players, even from those who would like to play but for some reason or another didn't do it yet.

Your game seems interesting, but when will u have your own website? More ppl will join it. Cheesy

Having a website means:

- Higher costs therefore smaller prizes
- Exposing the service to security risks (DDOS, hacking, ...)
- Makes it similar to other already existing games

Running through bitmessage brings the costs basically to zero, so all the "bets" go to prizes. Only bitcoin tx-fees get deducted.

do you think that the "text / message" interface is too difficult for too many people?

If you don't want to install bitmessage, you can register on http://www.bitmessage.ch/ and use your email. Once registered there, you can write an email to BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek@bitmessage.ch (or BM-2cXdbRBsBWXmdTqsN2s3jd28cpEunJX6Ek@bitmailendavkbec.onion if you want to access through TOR). The only limit is that you can't subscribe to Bitcoin Galore address and receive automatic round reports.

With Bitcoin Galore you can play with even just 0.00001 BTC (which is 10 uBTC) for each combo. If you are lucky you win a prize.

Each prize is divided between all the winning combos, but on average:

If you guess 3 numbers you can win an average of 0.0005 BTC (500 uBTC), which is 50 times.
If you guess 4 numbers you can win an average of 0.01 BTC (10 mBTC), about 1000 times.
If you guess 5 numbers you can win an average of 2.5 BTC or around 250000 times.
If you guess 6 numbers you can win 26 BTC and more (the game is pretty new and nobody guessed 6 numbers yet).

You can play more combos to increase the chance to win. Playing 1000 combos is just 0.01 BTC (10 mBTC).

To improve the quality of the service, I'd like to have a feedback from all the players, even from those who would like to play but for some reason or another didn't do it yet.

I am playing since a few months and I am happy with this service. I sell gameset systems for a small fee to anybody who wants to optimize their chances to win.

You can play with a very tiny amount: this won't make you poor and at the same time gives you a small chance to win the biggest prize. Three points price have quite high chances to be won. Even just one chance over a million is infinite times more than 0.  Remember that the purpose of this game is mainly to have fun! Wish you good luck! Cheesy
