This seems to be a marketing gimmick than anything else.
The day when they start offering discounts for all products purchased with bitcoins, I will agree that it is significant.

As far as I know they keep 100% Bitcoin

The usefulness of the unqualified analysis is wonderful!
I am somewhat certain they sell a majority of their bitcoin revenue. If they did not then they would be effectively be buying bitcoin with no where to spend it. Companies like this tend to keep as little cash on hand as possible because they can make more money on their core business. Hodling bitcoin is not newegg's core business

Bitpay say that half of all merchants do not convert their bitcoin into fiat.
I guess Newegg will, but it would not be impossible to keep some as BTC, especially if they can use it to buy components.

Yes, this makes sense to me.

I mean, why Newegg should offer this discount for BTC payments if the objective is to swap them for FIAT?
Why don't offer it (also) in USD in the first place?

Marketing gimmick?
A lot of companies do that...

Do you have a source on this? I am fairly certain that most merchants convert the majority of their bitcoin to fiat. Even Overstock only keeps ~10% of their bitcoin revenue

Why do you bump a topic which is almost a year old, i would buy this if the offer is still available why not saving $100 in a single order.

Haha yes a little bit weird.

If they still had this action, i would buy it too. The bitcoin price is much higher now, so it is an easy choice.
