Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I think it's legit, it has a huge thread in Marketplace - Goods section and as I can see everyone is satisfied with it's service.

SpendBitcoins is a very reputable company in the bitcoin industry and would have zero hesitations about using them.

However, I'm glad you asked about a company in general as too many people new to bitcoin get scammed...

Apparently, PayPal is not blocking this use (as a cash-out only service).
